Weirs and trash racks must be inspected DAILY.

There is no reason why a Pelena Hydro shouldn't have an indefinite lifespan, providing you and your children with reliable 240 volt AC power 24 hours 365 days a year.

Hydro systems however, do require regular maintenance and owners are usually well aware of replacing belts and the re-application of grease and oil.

Maintaining the weir, penstock pipeline and trash rack are just as vital to ensuring the long life of your system.

Repairs can be expected to be required to your transmission lines, penstock pipeline, weir and trash rack.  Weather, river debris and random events like falling trees can damage your system.

The weir pond must be kept clear of weed infestation and the trash rack cleaned regularly.
